We know health can be a handful. So we’ve custom built our wellness hubs with only one goal in mind - to make every Tasmanian’s health journey a little easier.
We host a range of sessions, events, and activities for both our members and the community to attend. We also work with like-minded Tasmanian organisations to deliver programs. If you are interested in working with us in our space, get in touch at events@stlukes.com.au.

Our yoga sessions focus on improving your flexibility and mobility, balance and co-ordination.
Join long term instructors Erin McCabe and Trisha Dunn for classes designed for all bodies and levels of experience.
Mat Pilates
Mat Pilates is a form of exercise that focuses on strengthening the core muscles, improving flexibility and enhancing overall body alignment. It involves performing a series of controlled movements on a mat, using body weight as a resistance. The exercises target specific muscle groups including the abdominals, back, hips, and glutes.
Qigong
Join Chinese doctor and acupuncturist Nicholas Beasley for an ancient healing practice involving gentle movements, breathing techniques and self-massage suitable for all bodies at any age.
Through the harmonisation of the mind, body and breath, regulate the nervous system, enhance physical health and invigorate all levels of human experience.
Stretch and Strengthen Exercise Class
Join experienced fitness instructor Megs for a mix of stretching, Pilates, yoga, and general strength work using your own body weight. There will be options for gentle through to more challenging levels with consistent cues to help people feel comfortable to work at their own pace. This class is suitable for anyone looking to improve their flexibility, balance and wellbeing.
Your Way to 5k - Walk and Run Club
Always wanted to run 5k but not sure where to start?
Over eight weeks build up your stamina and technique, learn how to prevent injury and make running fun, and prepare for the Cancer Council’s Womens 5k run on the 14th of September. Join personal trainers from Fit’n’kicking for a guided walk/run program with like-minded people and get individual attention to help you progress from your starting point.
Drop in and out when it suits your schedule and meet at the front entrance of St Lukes Launceston.
Strong Bones Exercise Class
Join Dr Katie-Jane Brickwood from Body Connect Exercise Physiology for an exercise class focusing on all things bone health! Learn how to safely exercise in a way that will help to keep your muscles and bones healthy.

St Lukes Dental celebrate Dental Health Week with a pop-up information table of resources and giveaways to help promote good oral healthcare for the whole family.
This year’s DHW campaign focuses on the importance of children’s oral health milestones, educating parents and caregivers about what they need to do to help their kids “reach every S-milestone", taking them on a journey from birth through their initial teeth and beyond. Pop in anytime during Dental Health Week.
NIA movement class with Hayley Crawford
Whether you’re looking to get fit, strengthen your body, feel good or cultivate awareness, Nia is the practice for you. Blending music, movement and mindfulness, Nia combines dance, martial arts, and healing modalities into joyful motion for all bodies and all ages.
Sing Play Learn for toddlers
Sing Play Learn is a 30-minute engaging movement and music class for toddlers and their grown-ups. Suitable for Children aged 8 months to 3-4 years, each class will consist of three sections – Music and Play, Movement and Song, and Mini Circuit.
Stroke Safe Information Session
Stroke can happen to anyone at any age and has lasting impacts on the individual, as well as the people around them. One in four strokes occur in people under 65 years of age.
Kate Bucknell experienced a stroke in 2016 at the age of 36, prompting her to become a Stroke Safe Speaker for the Stroke Foundation so she can share her journey and promote the Stroke F.A.S.T message.
In Kate’s powerful and informative session held during National Stroke Week, she will cover what a stroke is, the impact a stroke can have, the signs of stroke so that you can save someone’s life, and what you can do to prevent a stroke (80% of strokes are preventable).

Join our baby massage class for parents and their little ones aged 6 weeks to 12 months.
Discover how gentle touch promotes motor development through sensory stimulation, muscle relaxation, and body awareness. Use soothing strokes to help settle your baby, promote sleep, and enhance bonding.
Please note that baby massage is a complementary practice and not to be attempted in lieu of seeking medical advice for a severely unsettled/colic baby.

Finish your work day with a quick uplifting cardio and strength building fitness session.
Join personal trainer Megs for a fantastic low impact exercise option catering to all levels of fitness and experience.
This class is for those looking to improve cardio fitness, get resistance work, learn new skills and release stress at the same time!

A two and half hour First Aid Information Session for parents and carers of babies and young children.
During the session you will learn information on children's health, first aid, and safety in a warm and friendly environment, including areas such as Burns, Choking, Seizures, CPR & Resuscitation.
Deep Rest: Yoga Nidra for Women’s Health Week
Experience a deep rest and inner renewal in this special yoga nidra session created to honour and support women’s health and wellbeing. Often called ‘yogic sleep’ yoga nidra is a guided meditation that invites you fall into a deeply relaxed state where the body, mind and nervous system can rest and reset. No experience necessary, feel free to bring a blanket and pillow for extra comfort, lie down, rest and receive.
SPEAK UP! Stay ChatTY Standard Mental Health First Aid Refresher Course
This Mental Health First Aid Refresher course supports current and accredited Mental Health Fist Aiders to stay up to date with mental health first aid knowledge, skills, and information. Participants must have competed the Standard Mental Health First Aid full 2 day training within the last three years to qualify for this refresher.
Cancer Council Women’s 5km Walk/Run Bib Collection
St Lukes is proud to be the bib collection point this year for the Cancer Councils Women’s 5km Walk/Run. Pop in to grab bibs for yourself and family members, stay for a cuppa at the café or bring the kids for a play in our indoor playground while you’re here!

Introduction to Scrapbooking
Join Linda Jestrimski from Stampin Up for some fun and creativity with an introduction into scrapbooking. Whether you’re an absolute beginner or reconnecting with a forgotten hobby, this hands on session is a chance to explore memory keeping through photos, paper, and personal stories. Bring along approximately 30 photos and you'll create three two-page layouts during the session. All other materials are provided and everyone is welcome.

1 in 5 Australians will experience a mental health problem in any given year.
The Mental Health First Aid course will teach you how to provide initial support to someone who is experiencing a mental health problem or crisis. This course is based on guidelines developed through the expert consensus of people with lived experience of mental health problems and professionals.
Please note this course is not a therapy or support group. It’s an education course to learn how to give first aid to others.
