Health and wellness
We understand that health is bigger than what happens in hospitals. It’s also about staying well for longer and getting the right help before things become more serious.
So as Tasmanian’s leading health and wellness organisation, we’re choosing to do more than a traditional health insurer would do. We’ve built wellness hubs to support healthier habits. We’re improving access to services, including building our own dental practices. We’re introducing programs to support prevention, early intervention and wellbeing. And we’ve created Health Navigation to connect Tasmanians to the right services.
Events
We know health can be a handful. So we’ve custom built our wellness hubs with only one goal in mind - to make every Tasmanian’s health journey a little easier.
We host a range of sessions, events, and activities for both our members and the community to attend. We also work with like-minded Tasmanian organisations to deliver programs.
Health Navigation
Finding health and wellbeing services can be hard. We can help.
Our Health Navigators are here to listen to your needs, provide you with information, and connect you with services that can help you on your health and wellbeing journey. And the best news is it's completely free for every Tasmanian, member or not.
Health programs
St Lukes offers a range of health programs to support your wellness journey at every stage. Our programs include the Osteoarthritis Program, Spinal Pilot Program, Heart Health Pilot Program and the Private Postnatal Service for new parents. These programs are tailored to provide comprehensive care and education, for a healthier, more informed you.
We're giving our members with Extras cover a free flu shot this winter*.
Flu season is upon us, and we want to help protect your health by giving all our members with Extras cover access to a free flu shot this winter.
Getting a flu shot is your single best protection against catching the flu and getting seriously ill from associated complications. So, we want to make it as easy as possible for our members to get their flu shot.

Free skin checks for members
With Tasmania facing one of the highest skin cancer rates in Australia*, free skins checks were provided to members in Hobart, Launceston and Devonport between Apil and July, 2026. No appointments are currently available; however, members will be contacted directly about any future skin check opportunities.
Gym benefits
Do you use a local gym to support your health and wellbeing? If you have combined Hospital and Extras cover, you might be eligible to claim benefits for Gym Programs and other Health Management Programs, especially when they’re part of a proactive approach to managing a health condition. All you need is a referral from a registered healthcare practitioner.
Whether you're managing a chronic condition, or recovering from an injury, this benefit can help make your wellness journey more affordable.
