We know health can be a handful. So we’ve custom built our wellness hubs with only one goal in mind - to make every Tasmanian’s health journey a little easier.
We host a range of sessions, events, and activities for both our members and the community to attend. We also work with like-minded Tasmanian organisations to deliver programs. If you are interested in working with us in our space, get in touch at events@stlukes.com.au.

Our yoga sessions focus on improving your flexibility and mobility, balance and co-ordination.
Join long term instructors Erin McCabe and Trisha Dunn for classes designed for all bodies and levels of experience.
Mat Pilates
Mat Pilates is a form of exercise that focuses on strengthening the core muscles, improving flexibility and enhancing overall body alignment. It involves performing a series of controlled movements on a mat, using body weight as a resistance. The exercises target specific muscle groups including the abdominals, back, hips, and glutes.
Qigong
Join Chinese doctor and acupuncturist Nicholas Beasley for an ancient healing practice involving gentle movements, breathing techniques and self-massage suitable for all bodies at any age.
Through the harmonisation of the mind, body and breath, regulate the nervous system, enhance physical health and invigorate all levels of human experience.
Stretch and Strengthen Exercise Class
Join experienced fitness instructor Megs for a mix of stretching, Pilates, yoga, and general strength work using your own body weight. There will be options for gentle through to more challenging levels with consistent cues to help people feel comfortable to work at their own pace. This class is suitable for anyone looking to improve their flexibility, balance and wellbeing.
The Shepherd Centre – Pop Up Information Table
ome and learn about The Shepherd Centre and the services they provide, grab some resources and chat with the team. Programs and services include early intervention support for children who are Deaf or hard of hearing and their families, audiology, family counselling, and spoken language therapists.
The team from Hearing Australia will also be at our wellness hub offering free hearing checks if you’d like to book in while you’re visiting!

Free 15 minute Hearing Checks with Hearing Australia
Rediscover the sounds you love with a quick free 15-minute hearing check* with Hearing Australia’s friendly team. At the hearing check, Hearing Australia staff will guide you through maintaining good hearing health and provide information on how to manage common hearing issues. Take the first step to start your journey towards better hearing.
Walk in and make your booking on the day in our wellness hub from 9:00am. To secure a hearing check, you must book with our team on the day.
* Only 15-minute hearing checks are free. Other services may attract charges/fees or may be subsidised for those eligible under the Australian Government Hearing Services Program, to which conditions apply. A hearing check is a screening that helps identify people that may have hearing loss.
Festival of Voices - Pop Up Choirs
Join Festival of Voices for a series of free pop-up performances across the state with choirs and vocal groups from Tasmania and across Australia. Sit back and enjoy a range of singers celebrating the power of voice and community. Choirs on the day include Singcognito, Gospella and Vox Harmony.

Family Play Space
Join us this school holidays for a day of play!
Challenge the kids to a game of giant Connect Four, Jenga or Scrabble, get moving with a game of corn throw, or invite some playful creativity at the craft table.
The benefits of play include improved literacy, numeracy, creativity and communication.
Please note this is an event for children and their carers to play together and children cannot be left unsupervised.

Make Music with the TSO!
Do you love making music with friends? Or perhaps you’ve always dreamed of being in a band? Maybe you just love a good old sing in the shower? Join the Learning team from the Tasmanian Symphony Orchestra as they facilitate an hour of interactive games and activities that will have you playing, singing, listening and exploring music. No previous experience is required, just enthusiasm and a willingness to participate in this fun, collaborative session.
This workshop is for school aged children up to 12 years of age. It is not recommended for children under the age of 4.
Please note children require the supervision of a parent or carer and will also require a ticket.
SPEAK UP! Stay ChatTY Mental Health First Aid Training
1 in 5 Australians will experience a mental health problem in any given year.
The Mental Health First Aid course will teach you how to provide initial support to someone who is experiencing a mental health problem or crisis. This course is based on guidelines developed through the expert consensus of people with lived experience of mental health problems and professionals.
Please note this course is not a therapy or support group. It’s an education course to learn how to give first aid to others.
Your Way to 5k - Walk and Run Club
Always wanted to run 5k but not sure where to start?
Over eight weeks build up your stamina and technique, learn how to prevent injury and make running fun, and prepare for the Cancer Council’s Womens 5k run on the 14th of September. Join personal trainers from Fit’n’kicking for a guided walk/run program with like-minded people and get individual attention to help you progress from your starting point.
Drop in and out when it suits your schedule and meet at the front entrance of St Lukes Launceston.
Family Cooking Workshop – Healthy Eating on a Budget
In the lead up to the agriCULTURED Festival join celebrity chef Rhys Hannan and Eat Well Tasmania for a workshop designed to educate families on budgeting for healthy, nutritionally dense foods as an alternative to processed meals. Participants will learn how to stretch a budget using fresh, local ingredients. A fun, family-friendly workshop learning to prepare simple, nutritious meals together.
Strong Bones, Strong Body- Nutrition Information Session
Bone health is important at every stage of life! Led by accredited and practicing dietician Jaymelia Webb, this workshop will explore key nutrients for bone strength, practical food swaps, and lifestyle habits that can help you to age well and prevent osteoporosis.
Self Defence for Kids – 4 and up
Join GKR Karate for this special self-defence session designed especially for kids of all ages 4 and up.
This session will cover what to look for to avoid danger in public situations, awareness of body language and physiology to abate bullying and peer pressure, encouraging confidence and personal power and educate them on the necessary skills to protect themselves or a loved one if need be.

Your Story Matters! Writing Workshop
Practice writing and reflection techniques over a six week course working towards your own memoir. Led by Fiona Couttie, an experienced and registered teacher. Workshops are suitable for any level, including beginners.

Sing Play Learn for toddlers
Sing Play Learn is a 30-minute engaging movement and music class for toddlers and their grown-ups. Suitable for Children aged 8 months to 3-4 years, each class will consist of three sections – Music and Play, Movement and Song, and Mini Circuit.
Stroke Safe Information Session
Stroke can happen to anyone at any age and has lasting impacts on the individual, as well as the people around them. One in four strokes occur in people under 65 years of age.
Kate Bucknell experienced a stroke in 2016 at the age of 36, prompting her to become a Stroke Safe Speaker for the Stroke Foundation so she can share her journey and promote the Stroke F.A.S.T message.
In Kate’s powerful and informative session held during National Stroke Week, she will cover what a stroke is, the impact a stroke can have, the signs of stroke so that you can save someone’s life, and what you can do to prevent a stroke (80% of strokes are preventable).
Baby Massage
Join our baby massage class for parents and their little ones aged 6 weeks to 12 months.
Discover how gentle touch promotes motor development through sensory stimulation, muscle relaxation, and body awareness. Use soothing strokes to help settle your baby, promote sleep, and enhance bonding.
Please note that baby massage is a complementary practice and not to be attempted in lieu of seeking medical advice for a severely unsettled/colic baby.

The Handweavers, Spinners and Dyers Guild of Tasmania - Pop Up Shop and Demonstration
Join the Launceston Textile Hub (HWSD Guild Tasmania) as they exhibit handmade knitted, woven and felted items by local makers. Come and try your hand at drop spindle spinning or watch these fibre workers in action as they transform natural wool and alpaca into yarn for weaving and knitting. Items will also be for sale on the day so come and get your Christmas gifts early this year!

Introduction to Scrapbooking
Join Linda Jestrimski from Stampin Up for some fun and creativity with an introduction into scrapbooking. Whether you’re an absolute beginner or reconnecting with a forgotten hobby, this hands on session is a chance to explore memory keeping through photos, paper, and personal stories. Bring along approximately 30 photos and you'll create three two-page layouts during the session. All other materials are provided and everyone is welcome.
