Refer a friend terms and conditions

Terms and Conditions – “Refer a friend to St Lukes and if they join on eligible products, you will both receive a $100 gift card”. (the “Promotion”).

1. These terms and conditions apply to the Promotion.

2. The Promotion commences at 12:00am AEDT on 08/12/2025 and ends at 11:59pm AEDT on 08/02/2026 (The “Promotion Period”).

3. The Promotor is St Lukes Medical and Hospital Benefits Association ACN 009 479 618 of 93 Cimitiere Street, Launceston, TAS 7250, Tel 1300 651 988 (“St Lukes”).

4. Participation in this Promotion shall be deemed acceptance of these terms and conditions.

5. To be eligible for the Promotion the existing member(s) must:

a. refer a friend or family members using the webform or with the assistance of our Customer Care Team either face-to-face or over the phone during the Promotional Period.

b. the friend or family member who has been referred must fulfill points 6a to 6d below.

6. To be eligible for the Promotion the new member(s) must:

a. be referred to St Lukes by an existing member using the webform or with the assistance of our Customer Care Team either face-to-face or over the phone during the Promotional Period.

b. join a combined hospital and extras cover or hospital only, with a join effective date during the Promotion Period

c. pay the first months’ premium at the time of join;

d. be new to St Lukes, and have not held cover with St Lukes in the previous 12 months of the start date of the policy; excluding dependants and

e. must be an Australian resident.

7. Where an eligible member transfers from another health insurer any extra’s benefits claimed with the previous insurer will be deducted from the new member’s annual limits.

8. All extras waiting periods apply.

9. All hospital waiting periods apply.

10. The new and existing member will receive the following:

a. For residents of Tasmania – A $100 IGA Gift Card

b. For residents of Australian Capital Territory, New South Wales, Northern Territory, Queensland, South Australia, Victoria or Western Australia – A $100 Eftpos Gift card.

11. The existing policy can only receive a maximum of five (5) $100 gift cards during the Promotion period by submitting a maximum of five (5) successful referrals during the Promotional Period.

12. Fulfilment of the Gift Card will occur 60 days after an Eligible member has held an Eligible Product for 30 days from the effective date of the policy. Both the existing member and the new member’s policy must be financial (policy not in arrears) to receive the Promotion.

13. The Gift Card will be mailed via registered post to the address on file for the new and existing policyholder.

14. Failure to collect the registered post letter within 10 business days will result in the letter being returned to St Lukes. The recipient will need to contact St Lukes to arrange collection of the returned letter. 

15. The Promoter will not replace a Gift Card that has been lost, stolen or expired.

16. The Gift Card is not transferable, exchangeable or redeemable for cash.

17. The use of Gift Card will be subject to the IGA Physical Gift Card Terms and Conditions and the Eftpos Gift Card Terms and Conditions, for which the Promoter has no control over.

18. St Lukes collects personal information on the membership application form and the Refer a Friend webform. Entry into this Promotion is conditional on providing this information. The personal information collected will be used in accordance with St Lukes’ Privacy Policy.

19. This Promotion cannot be combined with any other offer, unless otherwise advised by St Lukes.

20. St Lukes, its contractors, employees, and agents, shall not be liable for any claims, losses, damages, injuries, costs and expenses suffered or sustained or incurred (including but not limited to indirect or consequential loss), arising out of or in any way connected with the Promotion and/or except for liability that cannot be excluded by law. St Lukes accepts no responsibility for any tax implications that may arise from the receipt of the Gift Card. Independent financial advice should be sought.

21. St Lukes reserves the right, at any time, to verify an individual’s eligibility for the Promotion (including an entrant’s identity, age and place of residence) and to determine an individual(s)is not eligible for the promotion in accordance with these terms and conditions. Errors and omissions may be accepted at the St Lukes’ discretion. Failure by St Lukes to enforce any of its rights at any stage does not constitute a waiver of those rights.

22. St Lukes’ decision is final, and no correspondence will be entered into.

23. St Lukes assumes no responsibility for any error, omission, interruption, deletion, defect, delay in operation or transmission, communications line failure, theft or destruction or unauthorised access to, or alteration of the Promotion. St Lukes is not responsible for any problems or technical malfunction of any telephone, network or lines, computer on-line systems, servers, or providers, computer equipment, software, technical problems or traffic congestion on the Internet or any website, or any combination thereof, including any injury or damage to members or any other person’s computer related to or resulting from participation in or downloading any materials in this Promotion.

24. If this Promotion is interfered with in any way or is not capable of being conducted as reasonably anticipated due to any reason beyond the reasonable control of St Lukes, St Lukes reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to the fullest extent permitted by law to:

a. exclude any entrant; or

b. modify, suspend, terminate or cancel the Promotion, as appropriate.

25. Employees of St Lukes are not eligible for the Promotion. This includes an employee’s partner/spouse and dependant.

26. Employees of Salveo Healthcare Limited (ACN 645 287 583) (“Salveo”) are not eligible for the Promotion. This includes a Salveo employee’s partner/spouse and dependant.

27. Employees of Healthy Business (Tasmania) Pty Ltd (ABN 41 075 007 500) (“Healthy Business”) are not eligible for the Promotion. This includes a Healthy Business employee’s partner/spouse and dependant.
