St Lukes wins Canstar’s 2025 Outstanding Value Award for Hospital Cover in Tasmania – three years running

Tasmanian not-for-profit St Lukes has once again been recognised for its unwavering commitment to member value, taking home Canstar’s 2025 Outstanding Value Award for Hospital Cover in Tasmania—marking the third consecutive year of this prestigious win.

This continued recognition from Canstar – Australia’s leading financial comparison site – highlights St Lukes’ dedication to delivering high-quality, affordable hospital cover tailored to the unique health needs of Tasmanians.

Now covering more Tasmanians than any other private health insurer, Chief Operating Officer Darren Harris said the win was testament to the trust St Lukes’ 98,000 members place with the organisation.

“As a not-for-profit, our mission has always been to put our members first, as we continue our work to make Tasmania the healthiest island on the planet,” he said.

“This award is a reflection of our deep commitment to providing exceptional care and outstanding value – especially at a time when affordability and trust in healthcare matters more than ever.

“We’re here to support Tasmanians through every stage of life, empowering our members to enjoy not just good health, but excellent health for years to come.”

Canstar’s Health Insurance Awards recognise providers offering outstanding value to Australians, based on the organisation’s Star Ratings system. The ratings are designed to simplify the health insurance search, offering a shortlist of products that have been expertly assessed and ranked.

Canstar assesses hospital-only, extras-only, and combined hospital and extras and take into account factors like life stage, family structure, and level of coverage. In 2025, they evaluated over 30 health insurance providers.

The judges recognised St Lukes for delivering outstanding value through its hospital policies in Tasmania. According to Canstar, St Lukes showed consistent strength across key life stages—young, established, and mature—offering tailored, competitive options that help members strike the right balance between affordability and coverage.
