What is Talked and how can they help?

Talked is an online psychology service that connects you with a registered psychologist through telehealth appointments by video, phone or webchat.  Making it flexible, private, secure and easy to use. Giving you the choice of psychologist through a free 15 minute video call to find a practitioner that’s right for you.

Talked may be helpful if you:

  • Are looking to speak with a psychologist from home or another private place
  • Are finding it hard to make an appointment with a local psychologist
  • Are experiencing stress, anxiety, low mood, grief, relationship concerns, work pressure or changes in how you are coping
  • Would like practical strategies and support from a registered psychologist
  • Want help early, before things feel harder to manage

You don’t need a GP referral to get started, and for eligible members* your first FREE session sits outside your existing Mental Wellness annual limit or benefits. And there’s no out of pocket costs to pay.

What are the benefits of Talked?

A free psychology session for eligible members*

Eligible members* can receive one free 50-minute session with a qualified psychologist each calendar year^ on top of their mental wellness benefit limits on their policy.

Try before you commit

Free 15 min video or text chat with the psychologist to try before committing to a session.

Ongoing discounted support available

Ability to arrange a bulk billed Mental Health care plan within the platform to continue subsidised care through Medicare OR continue psychology using Extras product benefits. Plus, St Lukes memebrs can access a reduced cost for any ongoing appointments.

Easy access to appointments

Telehealth appointments available within 12 hours, with extended hours across 7 days and no geographic constraints.

Online resources and tools

Access to the Talked wellbeing platform, available 24/7. Explore articles and learning materials covering a wide range of mental health topics, from managing stress and sleep to relationships and parenting.

Support tailored to you

Screening tools through the validated surveys, wellbeing check ins that can be fed back to the psychologist to tailor support.

Who is eligible to access Talked?

St Lukes members can access the Talked wellbeing platform and online resources.

Eligible members can also access one St Lukes funded telehealth appointment with a general psychologist per calendar year, with no out-of-pocket cost for that session*. This session is funded by St Lukes and does not need to be claimed through Medicare.

To be eligible for the funded psychology session, you need to:

  • Be a current St Lukes member and up to date on premium payments
  • Hold eligible Extras cover* that includes a mental wellness benefit^

Eligibility will be checked when you access Talked. If you are not eligible for the funded session, you may still be able to access Talked services at the St Lukes member rate or explore other support options.
